IGNOU Updates 2019

IGNOU is the central university of the country. It is Indira Gandhi National Open University. Since its establishment in 1985, it is working. It offers distance and open education.IGNOU provides higher education. It promotes distance education in the country. Further, it also maintains the standards in distance education.  In present, Prof. Nageshwar Rao is the Vice-Chancellor.

 

It has set up 5 zones. These are North East, West, East, South and North. It has 21 schools. IGNOU has 29 overseas centers in 15 countries. There are total 67 regional centers. This open university has 2667 study centers. In total, it offers 226 academic programmes. These are at the levels of degree, diploma and certificate.

Research Unit

IGNOU has the research unit. There are many objectives behind its establishments. So, it develops the policies for research activities. It also monitors the M. Phil Candidates. Further, it monitors Ph.D. candidates too. Moreover, facilitates the discipline-based research.
